hardsubing with N_m3u8DL-RE.exe

Hi everyone,

Is it possible to hardsub the mux sub in the downloaded videos when using N_m3u8DL-RE.exe? I do the download and sub hardsubing seperately, but is is possible to do it all at once after downloading, like with ffmpeg? I'll appreciate if someone knows how and share the knowledge. Thank you

Hardsubbing requires the video to be re-encoded. I don't think that N_m3u8DL-RE can do that.

i was able to do it with ffmpeg but it took as much time as the video duration which was too long.. so in the end i will just do it seperately as usual.

Can I as why do you need to hardsub?

i use 3d party app for hardsubing and it works great, i wondered if i can do it while downloading the video and do it faster, but there's no faster way.

But why do you need to hardsub? I understand some languages like Japanese or Chinese might not look good in a video unless they are hardsubbed.
Once you burn the subtitles into a video, it is very hard to extract them.

one thing you can try and do is remux with mkvmerge, and set the subtitle track to default track flag=yes and forced display flag=yes.

its not true hard or burnt in subs on the video, but the remux will always show the subs while playing.
