It's hard to see from a still image, but basically, this kid on the left is walking away, yet there is a ghost of him standing there that fades away after a few seconds. This happens quite a lot throughout the tape, and I'm wondering if it's possible to fix.
Also, if there's anything else I should do to the footage in general. I already managed to remove the ugly yellow staining and restore the colors to mostly what looks correct, but it still looks too blue tinted.

1984? Cheap camera with a sticky tube? Maybe: https://www.avartifactatlas.com/artifacts/image_lag.html

Is this from a TV recording? TV multipath reception causes ghosting.
Also, has the video been filtered with a strong temporal filter, causing ghosting?Last edited by Sharc; 7th Nov 2023 at 03:17.

Looks like consumer vidicon image lag - baked into the tech of the times - and worse the lower the light level

Probably should expand..vidicon camera tubes were used before CCD/CMOS and were prone to image burn..pro cameras usually got reddish comet tails and were much less prone to burn in, Consumer cameras suffered much more from smearing and particularly in low light were gruesome

Prior to the 70's pro colour cameras used image orthicon tubes and these did not have comet tails, but usually a black circle around highlightsLast edited by black-dvd-archiver; 7th Nov 2023 at 03:53.
