Newbie on board so please forgive me if this has been answered elsewhere.

I've got hold of a copy of Spider-Man on SVCD (3-discs) and had already downloaded VideoLAN to play it on. After about 10 seconds of play on each SVCD, the video and sound become choppy and unwatchable. They wont play on Media Player (version 7) at all. Is there a minimum PC system configuration for SVCD playback. My Cd-ROM is 40x speed so i dont think it can be that that is to slow!

I also think i have all the relevant codecs, but could be wrong. any help appreciated.

To play back MPEG-2 files, you must have a program that can play MPEG-2 files. I suggest PowerDVD. If you install it, you can go back to Windows Media Player and it should work.
