Hello All, I have a brief query, if I may
I currently have the following subscriptions at home:
1. The Sky Package from the UK
2. Netflix
3. Disney
4. YouTube Premium.
My request is quite simple (!) I am looking to stream the BBC World Service to my new Android TV in mainland Europe but it seems this task is impossibleI just want this one channel from the many services I already paid for.
I have tried the following:
1. Bought a VPN provider (NordVPN), connected to the BBC site directly from a UK server. The connection to the BBC site is successful and I can watch BBC news (not the BBC World Service) but each time it breaks off after an hour. I need to reboot my Android TV and reconnect 6-7 times a day and this is not feasible.
2. I tried the site ‘Freeintertv.com’ again it works but it cuts after 1 hour and the quality is really bad.
3. For Livenewsmag.com…great quality but impossible to watch as it keeps jumping and its very choppy.
Honestly, I am not looking for free TV channels but I am so tired of paying for all of these services and needing a new subscription for everything. I just want to view this one channel : The BBC World Service
Thanks if you can help

If you have Sky, you might be able to adapt your satellite dish to receive another satellite from European satellites broadcasting on 19.2E. That's 9 degrees of separation from Sky channels on 28.2E, enough to fit another LNB (low noise block) at the focus of the satellite dish. The dish would need re-aligning. I see you are in Brussels, and that is well inside the footprint of 19.2E and your existing dish may well work. I am on the UK's South coast, slightly outside the footprint, and have a dual LNB on a 90cm dish. I installed it myself; simple enough to do. You would need another satellite box -Sky won't tune - but a cheap one from AliExpress can be had for under £100 when I last looked. I have an unused one since I went to a 4k receiver and am happy to give it away. PM if wanted. Then you can receive all the free to air European programmes see https://en.kingofsat.net/pos-19.2E.php and the image below

Hello Angela. Thank you for your feedback.
The Sky subscription has worked very well for the last 17 years (to be honest it has never been an issue) so id rather not touch the dish
But your post has got me thinking and I have reached out to my TV provider to see what they can offer to try and get it.
I am not anxious to subscribe to another service (due to what I am paying at the moment), I also hoping that another dish or satellite box will be necessary. -
I've happily used this supplier for kit https://www.hm-sat-shop.de/ and a they and others like them will have all you need for another small dish pointed at Astra 19.2E. All the programmes on a white background on the kingofsat site are free to air. All you need is a dish, an LNB, 75 Ohm satellite cable, F-connectors and a tuner. Pick up all that off eBay I wouldn't be surprised. But your local aerial guy will do with his eyes closed. Or take a feed from a neighbour? A dual LNB - one feed to them and one to you from the same dish. Depends on the kind of house/apartment you live in. All you would need then, apart from a fiendly neighbour, is the tuner and to pay for a dual LNB.
