what add on needed to get windows 10 to show .mpg thumbs ?

Hi,
unlike win7, win10 is hell.
Having overcome a number of basic issues, last saw me hacking registry to fix loss of Recent Folders option vital to workflow since win3.1, now the next problem, it wont show thumbs for .mpg files
What add on is safe and will generate thumbs for file explorer and any other view into my hard drives ?

I just paid $9 for FastPictureViewer and have only gained .psd photoshop files with thumbs. even adobe illustrator files are still icons let alone .mpg .eps. .dxf etc etc.
Basic stuff is this for starting with a new OS.

I also want thumbs! Especially for ProRes and 265/hevc.

For me it shows thumbnails for mpg files. I have quite a default system and I didn't do anything to have such thumbnails.
I only installed MPC-HC with extra icon files (or something like that).
