Editor always leaves 1st frame when cutting vid.

I tried using Free Video Editor and it always leaves the 1st frame when cutting time from the beginning of a video.
Is there some way to avoid this or should I use a different title?
I just need to clip some time from the beginning & end of the videos I get from Off-Air TV...absolutely nothin fancy.
I could go trial & error with the list of editors, but I wouldn't mind a recommendation here.

Use ffmpeg with a code like this:

ffmpeg -i source.mp4 -ss 00:00:00 -t 00:02:00 -c copy cut.mp4

That would give you a 2 minute clip at the start of the video.
