  1. I am downloading the series from ErtFlix with yt-dlp, but I have some problems with subtitles. While some of the episodes work fine and I get the subtitles in WebVTT format which easily converts to SRT, some of the episodes contain subtitles only as an MP4 file (1.90 MB), which is quite a big for a subtitle file.

While I can open the MP4 subtitles in Subtitle Edit, the timings appear to be totally messed up, and they contain many double/triple lines. So I can't really use them like that. This happens with every 2nd episode actually. I couldn't extract any subtitle stream from the MP4 file with My MP4Box GUI as well.

Is there any way to get the dash segmented subtitles in WebVTT format with the correct timings from the MPD stream URL, so I could save them in SRT format?

I tried several methods, but none of them worked:

I tried looking in the forums but none of the methods worked for me or maybe I missed something. I'd really appreciate any help. Thanks.

  3. Thanks for the suggestion!

Yeah, actually I also noticed that my Subtitle Edit version was outdated, so when I got the newest one the MP4 subtitles opened fine without the errors. Sometimes we overlook such obvious things, like checking the version of the software. It was too late though, as my post was already submitted and waiting for approval.
