  5.  Hey guys, i have made my mpeg files and i have tried making vcds. i used roxio to make i vcd, but they don't play in dvd players, which i was told they would do. is my problem the program i am using to to make the vcd or is it the dvd player itself?

roxio might be your problem...I've never gotten one good VCD from that program...I did get a nice collection of coasters though
if you don't want to get different burning software, you could use VCDeasy to make an image from your .mpg file first, and then either burn image with roxio, or mount the image to a virtual CDrom with daemontools, and do a direct CD copy. the second method should be absolutely foolproof. I'm not sure about roxio and burning images, but it should work fine also.

  7. MAX2- are you trying to take the two 500 meg files and combine them and then put it on 1 cdr. Also there is no mention of your dvd playr on the player compatability list.Check your owners manual to see oif it plays both cd-r and vcd.As far as settings in nero just use vcd.

QUICKMAN- I have never used roxio, but i have read that it has problems try using Nero. Like FANTOMLORD said it's a problem with roxio.
