Oppo Blu-ray players and Oppo UHD Blu-ray players are the only ones that I have heard of that can play external srt subs from a USB stick. Unfortunately, they are rather expensive and only available in used condition because Oppo is no longer making Blu-ray players or UHD Blu-ray players. See https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/393610-Is-there-a-player-that-can-read-external-subs#post2586868

You can try giving the external subtitle file the exact same name as the video file, and see if the player will automatically load the subtitle file with the video (example: MyMovie.srt, MyMovie.mp4).

Simple answer is a resounding NO! Well not unless you can lay your hands on a second hand Oppo Blu-ray player or a Oppo UHD Blu-ray player as mentioned. The only viable way to do this is to rip the disc as mkv and then you can add or subtract whatever tracks you want. MKV now supports Dolby Vision so this is the easiest way to go.
