I am trying to capture on open signal satellite program with my decoder, which I view perfectly on my TV.

For this I am using a generic HDMI video capture box, with HDMI pass-through and an USB cable that connects with laptop.

On the laptop I am using OBS, where the audio i set for two input audio channels.

The problem is when I connect the USB coming from the box the audio signal becomes mono.

My guess is it's the capture box to blame, so I wonder how I can find a capture box that is guaranteed will capture the original audio as it is.

Is there such a box or by design all always capture mono audio?

Of course the original audio on this case is 5.1, as the pass-through HDMI plays back on my loudspeakers.
