Does anyone have this problem?
When encoding a clip (into VCD, SVCD, or SXVCD), Tmpgenc introduces white chunks into some frames. These chunks can be as small as a box with purple striped lines, to a white stringy boxy line, to the bottom half of the screen turning all white.
It happens at random. When I encode the same clip, these white chunks appear in different areas than the first time. They are no motion blocks because they also occur in scenes where there is low motion and dark.
Could Tmpgenc be introducing these white chunks because of insufficient power or power fluctuations? I have a lot of plugs plugged into my multi-plug outlet to which my computer system is also plugged in.
This is on a Athlon XP system which worked well for Tmpgenc encoding before I installed a lot of new MoBo drivers and capture card.

On further note, these chunks occur usually several minutes into the movie. 1-2 times every 10 minutes or so. Also, it lasts very briefly, less than 1 second each time.
Could it be flourescent lighting causing interference? I am quite perplexed that I am the only one starting to experience this result. -
me might know what you are talking about.
Make sure that you do not have any video program in the background of tmpgenc.
In some cases-
I have had tmpgenc encoding while watching a movie in me software dvd player.
When playing the movie in the background, tmpgenc can be encoding in the foreground.
Since both videos are overlaying each other, it can cause white blotches in the screen but this is not being encoded into the movie, it's just an overlay preview screen, no affection.
Me hopes to have answered your question. -
Interesting theory Ali. However, I don't touch my computer while it is encoding. I also have very few background processes running other than Explorer and Systray. No screensavers either.
