    what is the difference between mpv-32bit and mpv-64bit.exe?

    if mpv-32bit doesnt work with XP then what is this 32bit version for?

    mpv came with d3dcompiler_43.dll, why do i need this file? it seems to work without it.

    All versions of Windows since XP have come in 32 bit and 64 variants.

    There are 32 bit versions of Windows 7, 8, 10.

    ok but isnt this a waste of an effort? why would someone want to run 32bit if they could use 64bit ?

    Older software only runs on 32 bit systems, including 16bit DOS programs. Also some hardware including drivers are only available for 32 bit systems
