  1. I might be being a little thick here but it is late and Im tired.

I have a DIVX film. Its about 700Mb. If I try using TMPGenc and use the same source for the video and audio (I know I loose sound) then the file is estimated at about 1.5 Gb. If I rip the audio using Vdub and use this as the source for audio then the file usualy is about 700 - 800 Mb. Am I really loosing that much audio data?

Secondly I have used the guide for making a VCD fit on one disk with great results. But if the file is estimated at being less than 700Mb what happens if you increase the bitrate untill it is at 100% of the disk size?

First, I don't think people named "Douglesh" should throw stones in glass houses, unless of course his teeth are missing whe he says that.

Second, johngc, so help me your question confuses me no end.

I think your question has to do with FitCD and what to input there...

First, make sure you do encode video AND audio (no sense in losing it)... use the values FitCD tells you...

If I understand right, you want to know how much data you can fit on XXX sized disc.

Upper-right-hand corner of the program, where it says "CD Space", select the type of media you use.

Or, your question has to do with audio size... remember if you're converting it out somehow (expanding from .mp3 or .mp2), it could be making it an uncompressed WAV, which likely would be in the 700-900MB range for a whole movie...

    Did I get any hits?
