Here's the question:
What is the top speed for USB Type-C Gen 2 ? (in MB/s):
I tried 480. I tried 60. It didn't like either one. Can anyone help? I feel kinda stupid for not knowing this but I can't really get a straight, direct answer when I Google the question.
Thanks!

Thanks...I consulted Google to convert to MB/s and it said that was 10000...and the Mediasonic bot didn't like that answer either.

This is starting to remind me of Monty Python and the Holy Grail ("What is the velocity of an unladen swallow?").84Lion

	1,250 MB/sec

 Divide by 8 (8 bits = 1 byte)

Edit: I just tried registering at mediasonic.ca and it said 1,250 and 1250 are incorrect. Strange!Last edited by lingyi; 11th Aug 2018 at 14:56.

Pretty lame registration process. What happened to the good ol' captcha ?

And even lamer when it does not know the answer to its own question.

Thanks for the replies. I sent them an e-mail requesting help (and the answer!). 84Lion

10 Gbit/sec is for full duplex (both ways). Maybe they want one way, 5 Gbit/sec., 625 MB/s. Or maybe they're looking for real world throughput.

STUPID, STUPID, STUPID way to answer!

I just managed to register typing 1250 MB/s!

The funny thing is I've been using (and really like) their Probox for years and never bothered to register.

They may have to change the Q. now

It's as if they only wanted people who think out of the box to actually register and thus post on the forum. A bit of an exclusive club then.

I felt like KICKING the box a few times after I got the right answer!

 So did I! Thanks!

I have two of their Proboxes and I really like them. The problem is that when I use my Windows 10 machine, when the connection to the box is idle (like when BD-Rebuilder is doing a re-encode and the source is on the Probox and the Working Path is on another drive), the drive shuts off. This makes BD-Rebuilder shut down. I found out that the Sync setting can be changed to prevent this from happening, via a post on their forums, and wanted to thank the admin for posting the solution.

The odd thing is that this was never a problem on my Windows 7 machines.84Lion
