NERO WORKS AT THE OFFICE BUT NOT AT HOME-WHY???

I am having trouble with Nero 5.5.72.
I am running this on my office system and 5.5.80 on my home system. At the office I can copy a VCD onto a CD-RW so I can play it on my Sony DVD player, yet if I try this at home I always run into an incomplete burn at about 20%. No explanation given by the error notice.
Any idea as to what I may be doing wrong?

What are the specs on the two computers?
Are they fairly similar, or not? I have the same problem,
at home the VCD I burn doesn't work, but at work I can create
them just fine.

Nero has probably detected that you are using the same serial number on both machines (machines talk, you know!). It is punishing you by destroying your supply of bulk CD-Rs.

Either that, or your CD-R burner is having heat problems.

No I don't think that has anything to do with it SLK001 I to had this same problem as well with OEM ver of Nero 5.0 which came with my CD-RW so what I did was format the disk and reinstall windows and re-enter the same serial number that come with Nero CD bingo all is well now belive it not it all start rigth after 5.5.7.8 funny was if uninstall 5.5.8.0 and reinstall 5.5.7.8 all was working againe.

We had a thread a week or two ago about the NERO 5.5.8.0 install program. To install 5580, you had to completely uninstall the previous NERO, then do a normal install with 5580. Seems like there is a problem with a .DLL file that doesn't get updated, or something. When I first installed 5580, it wouldn't even find my DVD recorder. The UNIN/IN proceedure worked to fix my problems.

LORENZO's problem is that the burn is only partially completed before abnormal termination. Usually when this happens, there is a problem with either the media or the machine... either that, or the machines are talking to each other!
