  2. Now, the question is more like, did you Encoder using Nero or did you just burn ? cause Nero doesn't choose the quality if you just burn with it.

If you are just Burning, i'd recommand TSCV or VCDEasy.

  4. I ll be honest with you. I never use Nero for encoding anything. I use TMGEnc to great effect, then burn the resulting files.

Lately, I have been using a new software for VCDs: WinonCD 5.0 Power Edition (previously by CeQuadrat, now a Roxio product). It s very reliable and has not produced any coasters.

What s more, where for burning in Nero I have to wait a couple of minutes for the MPEG file to be validated and the temp file to be created, then press OK to start the burn, in WinonCD I just ask to burn and walk off while it does all the work unsupervised. Smarter.

  5. Yostie, that's where you made the mistake, you used Nero to do encoding!, not ever ever ever! do that. First use a program like TMPGEnc or CCE or any other Professional specificly made encoder to do the encoding, then use the MPG file in any program to "burn" the MPG into a VCD/SVCD.

Now, as for VCDEasy not recognising your CDRW drive, make sure you have the latest IDE drivers and the ASPI Layer v4.6 Build 1021 installed on your system.

I have tried Verbatim, imation annd Emtec CDR but they all seem to do it.. As for the ASPI drivers where can i find them....

  7. Yostie. what are ur video settings in TMPG? perhaps your bitrate is set too high for your dvd player or you are using 2- pass vbr and ur dvd player wont play that smoothly....what brand/model is your dvd player?

  9. Sounds more like Field Order problem, I suggest you try switching the Field Order and that in 99% of all cases fixes that problem with jittery video.

my birates is less than 2000.
So it's not a VCD. Some players (my Philips DVD 622, for example) wont play an XVCD encoded at any other bitrate than the VCD standard bitrate. Before upgrading the firmware, it even had problems playing standard VCDs.

Also, burning speed might be an issue to check out.

  11. So how do i change the Feild order......would be great if you could explain to me... My J4 discman plays VCD's/Jpegs/CD's and Mp3's and i have tried bruning at numerous different speeds....

  12. In TMPGEnc, go to the Settings - Advanced, and there you will have the ability of changing the Field Order.
