  1. Hi all,

I am a total newbie to burning vcd's, and i probably will show it too with this post

    I have a vcd movie i want to make a copy of......its on an 80min 700mb cdr........

However the .DAT file is 754mb......and i just can't copy it over to another cdr of the same size (700mb)

I have been reading posts and stuff about doing different things to the file, like overburning and compression, but i am stumped...

How do i get this file copied onto another cdr.......?

Please treat me as mentally incapable :P and answer me in laymans terms...

    Thanks

why not use neros cd-copy or any other cd-copy tools to copy the vcd? if that don't work you can follow this www.vcdhelp.com/nero.htm and add the .dat as the video mpg source.

  3. I have tried using nero to copy the disc, but it just says that the cd in the drive is too small to copy this file too......

Is there any way i can compress the file down a bit to fit......?

I have followed the link you gave me, all went well until it came to burning, then it again said "replace the media with one that has enough room on it"

    What am i doing wrong?

    Thanks

a 754 MB dat file should fit on a 80 min CD because VCD is burnt in mode2 form2 and then you fit about 800 MB on a 80 min/CD. You could try first to convert the .dat to a .mpg with vcdgear www.vcdhelp.com/convertdat.htm and then author and burn with nero www.vcdhelp.com/nero.htm
