It works fine here. As long as you can see the video in the input and output windows you should be able to use textsub. A random AVC/MP4 file and random SRT file:

Hm, mine are .sub type, will convert to .srt and try again.
EDIT: As .srt it works now, dunno why .sub was the problem.Last edited by kodec; 3rd Jan 2017 at 08:06.

Just plain .sub subtitles.
