  1. Losslessly of course. Machete crashed when loading my file and AsfBin was confusing. I need to see what I'm editing. If that's not an option then I need to be able to input the times I want the cuts, AsfBin doesn't let me do either in a straightforward fashion.

  2. What was confusing about asfbin ?

Make sure you push the preview button to see the preview. You just drag the in/out sliders to mark in/out. When you touch the left (in) , the preview will show the in; conversely for the right (out)

Alternatively, you can enter times for in/out and the preview will adjust accordingly

Or there is the old windows media file editor from microsoft that comes with wme . It's even more "clunky", but has preview, mark in/out

  3. Or you didn't mention if you wanted free vs. retail

A retail option is solveigmm video splitter. This is probably my favorite general purpose splitter that handles a variety of formats with a decent GUI . But in terms of freeware I would say asfbin is the best
