  1. I'm trying to download the free shorts from here. Here's a link to one of them. I used AdBlock to find some m3u8 urls, but I've tried putting them through livestreamer without any luck. I don't know many tricks to download streams so if anybody can help me grab the free shorts I'd appreciate it.

    hi
    Code:
    http://cdnapi.kaltura.com/p/585231/sp/58523100/playManifest/entryId/0_50p8sasl/flavorId/0_3vjph8r7/format/http/protocol/
you can find the m3u8 link and use livestreamer

    Code:
    livestreamer "hlsvariant://M3U8-LINK" best -o video.ts

  3. I'm probably making some basic mistake. Do I use the whole media url or select parts?

  4. I figured out what I was doing wrong for what I posted before, but now my problem is that the .ts file doesn't seem to play? I'm using VLC in my playback attempts. It downloads and the file is about 15mb which I figure for how short they are is fine, but it just doesn't seem to play.

  6. It worked(-ish) for me when I left everything after the "m3u8" on the url.

    Example of what I used:
    Code:
    livestreamer "hlsvariant://http://content.uplynk.com/ext/21885d134fa441488df8e1d7acee8c66/10051013.m3u8?exp=1449725720&ct=a&eid=10051013&oid=21885d134fa441488df8e1d7acee8c66&iph=72f5360f1f674f6b3d55a5cbcb2c29c4a7cd5bc1b7afe20feb4f4b3eb7a765ae&rays=eabcdfgh&euid=70C5E55D-CD56-4535-AE11-8F93BF160085_000_0_001_sf&sig=e2b4c993c177f79ebda2282634885bec3ac4d70fd70701499cc3df22eab982df" best -o video.ts
Edit: Turns out after I use Handbreak to convert it I can play it back alright. I don't know why, but it works.
