    I have some home videos that are in mp4 format. What would be the best tool for snipping them into manageable sizes for uploading to something like youtube?

    Definitely try avidemux. This is what I use and it's really good for editing out unnecessary/unneeded content. Works fairly simple and rarely if ever gives me any kind of issues. Definitely worth checking out!
