  1. Can someone help I have recovered a video from my usb flash drive but when I try to open the video it says "windows media cannot play the file. the player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file." the video is MP4 it says in the properties.

    If this file was recorded to the USB drive that was attached to your TV or cable box.....it's copy protected/encrypted.

    As you stated "recovered", I will assume it was corrupted/deleted/whatever and was restored using data recovery software. In which case, try again with different software. The file is most likely incomplete, corrupt, or total garbage. Open the file using MediaInfo and see if it's properly recognized. If it is, someone can likely help figure it out. If it's not (which is what I expect), there is nothing that can be done.
