hdv-hc3 capturing issue

I have the above hd mini dv camcorder and im trying to capture video via hdvsplit on windows 7 64bit pc using ilink 4 pin firewire

it doesn't recognise the camcorder

strangely - I also have another sony camcorder - hdr fx1e - and that works fine using same config as described above - but I want to sll this machine and just use my hdv-hc3 machine

any ideas??

sounds like the hc3 may have a dead firewire port. not unusual. i wouldn't sell the fx1e until all your tape have been captured.
