I thought that might get your attention...

Look, I am new only to this VCD format. I can do AVI, MPG, ASF, etc. no problem. But when I burn a VCD both the DVD Player and the PC play the images back as GREEN BLOTCHES ect.. The audio is garbage as well I am using VCD Easy to burn. I have exhausted all the speeds 2x 4x 8x same results. If I can't get an answer then I will assume you guys know less than me on this subject and this will be my third and last time I ask. I will just go back to formating my videos as Mpegs and ASFs and viewing them on my PC. If making a single VCD is this hard (thus far I have 10 new coffee coasters) then somebody needs to improve the software or make a much better how to guide than what I have read on here.
Remember, Life is one game that none of us will get out of alive.

  2. Im new to vcd myself. but I havent had any problems burning vcd's not 1 coaster yet :P
I use nero all i do is drag and drop my mpg file into the box, tell it what speed to burn at and thats it. Do the files you are trying to burn play on your computer?

  3. I have had the same problems with the green blotches and scrambled audio. I have found that it was related to the media I was using to burn on to, not the software or the burning speed (as my burner is only 2x). I was using a Pacific Digital CD-RW as my media so that I wouldn't waste CD-R's. Since you seem to have a full place setting of coasters I would assume that you have be using CD-R's. I tried with a Fujifilm CD-R using the same CUE/BIN files and got a good VCD. I then tried with a Memorex Platinum CD-RW and the same CUE/BIN file and got a good VCD. Try using a high quality CD-RW to test your burns on such as Sony or Memorex, and you'll probably find you get a good VCD. Then when you're satisfied, use a good quality CD-R to burn your final VCD. BTW, there are always some CDROM drives that can't read any CD-RW but can read a CD-R. I have a Panasonic laptop that can't read any CD-RW properly. Best place to test is in a DVD or CD-RW drive.
