I am dubbing a documentary (in Audition) and I am wondering is there an automatic way to make the original sound go quieter when my voice is playing? It would really save a lot of time.

There are a number of tutorials, google "adobe audition side chain auto duck." I wouldn't use it personally, so can't vouch for any of the methods. Last edited by smrpix; 20th Jan 2015 at 11:49.

Duckers work, but the trick to getting them to sound good and not produce pumping is judicious use of attack and release times. I have my own bag of tricks to improve it but Audition is not powerful/versatile enough to pull it off.
