Hi,
I have ripped all my movies to ISO's and am now trying to convert to MP4 and keep the same size for the file (or smaller) but still have perfect picture when watching on 46" LED TV. I will be using a desktop as a Plex server and passing through to Xbox One to watch on my TV. I have ******* but when converting using best settings in h.264 (mp4) the file gets huge. Tried using Handbrake, files are smaller (3gig roughly) but don't look sharp when playing. Need suggestions please. Any help is appreciated!!

Hmmm, Handbrake defaults to loose anamorphic, which resizes the video to Mod16 after cropping. That might make it a little blurrier. It depends on the source.
Other than that:
1: CRF controls Handbrake quality, set it to a lower number to increase quality (and file size).
2: Have you played the original DVD on the TV to see what the quality is like. Re-encoding isn't going to make it any better.
3: Different players have different resize/deinteracing methods. Your DVD is most likely interlaced, the filters that your DVD player/TV uses may in fact be superior to the Handbrake/mp4 player filters.
