Audio no video!!

Hi guys. I have a brand new windows 8 Lenovo Ideacentre A7 series all-in-one desktop. I ran hdmi out into my Yamaha RX-V373 receiver then into my Vizio VL370M television. I had video but no audio. So I updated the NVIDIA sound card to a GE force 320.49 driver and it worked great for one night.

The next day I had audio but no video. I get my desktop screenshot without all my app icons. When I play a video nothing shows. I'm at a loss as to why it worked great when I went to bed but didn't the next day. There seems to be a lot of conflicting or misinformation when I search the web for answers.

I've ordered new HDMI cables in the hope that is the problem. Have you guys encountered anything like this?

My PC does that on occasion. Unplug the HDMI cable from the PC and reboot and you should have your desktop back. My PC monitor gets stuck in HDMI mode on occasion and there's no desktop icons with that.

I doubt it's the HDMI cables, but more likely your video card settings. Also check your monitor settings.

I tried rebooting but still no luck. When I plug in the hdmi cable I get a cloned desktop without any mouse control so I am unable to access screen resolution to change any settings. When I unplug the hdmi cable I can access screen resolution, but then, of course, I only show one monitor.

PROBLEM SOLVED

I used NVIDIA's control panel to extend and then clone my desktop to the tv.

Good to know you got it working. HDMI or dual monitors can be a PITA at times.
