SUPER has always been an "Emergency Use Only" converter. It was outdated LONG before it became a disease-riddled piece of crap.

What makes you think you downloaded a complete stand-alone installer ?

Many softwares just allow you to download an installer that proceeds to download the actual files from the web. The [dis]advantage of this method is that you always get the latest version.

Of course you do not want to hear ANT critique about Super but there alternatives available and will not foul yur system with ad-ware etc.

  5. I used to love SUPER... until it became painfully slow. I was using a 6-year-old computer with a single-core Celeron at the time ! Like DB83, I strongly recommend moving on to something better.

PS: WTF is with the web-installer cr@p? What happened to just downloading ONE file, executing it and waiting while it extracts/install everything in one go? I would much rather simply download an installer with MY download manager of choice, rather than someone else's. Having to Google around for a "redistributable" version is NOT my idea of intuitive.

  6. why bother with Super anyway, there are far better options out there now than this pile of old junk.

it was good back in the day, it often used to do conversions for me that other tools just couldnt/wouldnt do, but not any more.
