hi
first post looking for some help
I am trying to find out the best method of video capture fro a Virgin media V+ HD box. I have done some searching on the net and i think i need the following items.
Hauppage HD PVR
HDMI to Component converter
HDMI splitter
If i am correct in my assumption i am trying to find out how i would connect to V+ box and then onto my PC ?
V+ box is a Samsung
Pc is running Windows 7 Home Premium
any and all help would be appreciated on this or any recommendations of a better method
thanks in advance

A better approach would be to get an HDMI splitter that removes HDCP. Then use a Hauppauge HD PVR 2 and record the HDMI output of the splitter. The hard part is identifying which splitter remove HDCP (they're not supposed to).
