Hi,
I have 3 mp4 videos (with audio) that I want to join together.
I use MyMP4Box. However, the video turns out black.
Obviously there is some mismatch between the files that I'm, unfortunately, aren't aware of.
Here's some info:
1st file:
Code:Format : AVC Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec Format profile : High@L3.1 Format settings, CABAC : Yes Format settings, ReFrames : 6 frames Codec ID : avc1 Codec ID/Info : Advanced Video Coding Duration : 1mn 41s Bit rate : 1 000 Kbps Maximum bit rate : 2 963 Kbps Width : 848 pixels Height : 480 pixels Display aspect ratio : 16:9 Frame rate mode : Constant Frame rate : 23.976 fps Color space : YUV Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0 Bit depth : 8 bits Scan type : Progressive Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.102 Stream size : 12.2 MiB (89%) Writing library : x264 core 130 r2273 b3065e6 Encoding settings : cabac=1 / ref=6 / deblock=1:1:1 /
2nd file:
3rd file:Code:Format : AVC Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec Format profile : High@L3.1 Format settings, CABAC : Yes Format settings, ReFrames : 8 frames Codec ID : avc1 Codec ID/Info : Advanced Video Coding Duration : 20mn 44s Bit rate : 500 Kbps Maximum bit rate : 1 871 Kbps Width : 848 pixels Height : 480 pixels Display aspect ratio : 16:9 Frame rate mode : Constant Frame rate : 23.976 fps Color space : YUV Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0 Bit depth : 8 bits Scan type : Progressive Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.051 Stream size : 74.2 MiB (82%) Writing library : x264 core 65 r1074M b6bb3d4 Encoding settings : cabac=1 / ref=8 / deblock=1:1:1 /
What do I need to look out for?Code:Format : AVC Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec Format profile : High@L3.1 Format settings, CABAC : Yes Format settings, ReFrames : 6 frames Codec ID : avc1 Codec ID/Info : Advanced Video Coding Duration : 1mn 49s Bit rate : 1 000 Kbps Maximum bit rate : 3 011 Kbps Width : 848 pixels Height : 480 pixels Display aspect ratio : 16:9 Frame rate mode : Constant Frame rate : 23.976 fps Color space : YUV Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0 Bit depth : 8 bits Scan type : Progressive Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.102 Stream size : 13.1 MiB (94%) Writing library : x264 core 125 r2200 999b753 Encoding settings : cabac=1 / ref=6 / deblock=1:1:1 /

unless all the videos were part of a single encode to begin with joining is not likely to work. those 3 have different reference frames and are not close in bitrate.
re-encode them together - don't join.--

Thanks for your reply!
The idea behind these three files: intro, main, outro.
I encoded the intro and outro to have the same reference frame value as 'main' as well as a bitrate.
Still, the video is blank.
Reencoding the 'main' is not an option since it takes time.
