  1. I have recently heard of people who put multiple movies onto DVD-R, It has only just occured to me (After reading the DVD spec) that vcd resolution is accepted as a DVD standard.

If i'm downloading vcd's and currently converting them to DVD standard using TMPEG and upping the resolution.....

Will it not be easier to keep the file as it is, but just up the Audio rate from 41,000 to 48,000.

This way, the filesize would be smaller, it would still be the same MPEG 1 video with the same bitrate, so i could fit more than 1 movie onto a dvd with a menu.

Is it better to keep the same size anyway, would i be gaining anything by upping the resolution.

Will this play in any dvd player that plays dvd-r.

    cheers

  2. There is no point in increasing from VCD resolution to DVD resolution, it will not make for a better picture, in fact it will probrably look worse. To get a better quality picture the image would have to be captured in the higher resolution to start with.
