FLV to MP4 with AVS Converter

I bought AVS Video Converter. I'm trying to choose a set of output settings. I want to convert an FLV file to a generally universal format. The intended audience is web browsers and tablet users.

My former video guru told me that in today's world when we export our videos from Premiere to export to H.264/MP4 to get maximum compatibility, and so far that's worked great for us. But I have this older FLV that I hope to be able to convert so it has comparable compatibility. The original FLV is 480x360.

Can it be done? And, if so, can I please get a suggestion on what settings to use in AVS Video Converter for the output file?


Or is there a different approach I should be taking?

Use a preset? Like for ipad 1/2 and it should work on most devices.

Actually, I tried the following in AVS Video Converter and it seems to have worked okay (I have yet to have someone confirm for me how it looks on an iPad, though, since all I have is a Windows PC):

- preset: MP4
- Codec: H.264/AVC
- Frame Size: Original
- File Type: MP4 iso v.2

Should be fine like that, right?

My first attempt, as described, did not work.

Using a preset as you suggested for iPod did.

This time I went with an MP4 preset that changed File Type from "MP4 iso v.2" to "m4v iPod".

By the way, it plays great in a Windows browser, too!
