  1. Greetings to everyone

I am new here and hope i will have the opportunity to get to know all of you. Since a few months i am experimenting with vcd and work this way :
    1. copy the dvd to hd using smartripper
    2. encoding to mpeg1 (high bitrates between 1500-2000) with dvdx and tmpegenc, which is giving satisfying picture to me
    3. burn the movie to 2 vcd's that can be played in my home dvd player

Now i was wondering, with the dvd writers coming soon...
Is it possible to burn the moviempeg (mentioned above and between 1 and 2 gig big) to dvdr as a so called vcd so that i have a vcd disc with 4,7 gig of space ?
The advantage would be that the movie is on 1 disc instead of 2-3

  2. As far as I know it is possible, but you will need to have an Audio at 48khz and not the VCD standard of 44.1khz, and it should be accepted by most if not all DVD Authoring programs.
