  1. Good Afternoon,

I have a .avi file which is 624 x 352 - I am trying to convert it to HD video using Leawo video converter ultimate. However I am getting a problem. The original file has no signs of lipsync issues however the converted file gets really bad after a couple of minutes, any ideas? It happens to the converted file both on my computer and the blu ray so it's nothing to do with the external drive (just a USB)

I am trying to convert this file too MP4 as I know my blu ray player supports this. I have tried to convert to HD MPEG4 Video however this occurs. Any ideas? I was going to try converting to HD.H 264 MPEG-4 AVC video...would this make a difference?

Its worth noting, i have tried converting the file to Medium video quality in the HD format, no difference.

    Thanks Guys
    Aaron

Both "avi" and "mkv" are containers....not video formats.
"AVI" files are usually crap, compressed xvid or divx video, MKV usually contain better quality video but nobody knows because you did not tell anyone what was inside these containers.
Long story short....you want to upscale possible garbage xvid/divx to HD?....with something called Leawo?
I'm sorry but that is a ridiculous undertaking.

I've never heard of leawo video converter, but that doesn't matter (though if were that good I'd probably have heard of it here, and it shouldn't really introduce sync problems).

I'm not quite sure what you mean to gain by converting 624 x 352 to HD. It's certainly possible but you're surely not expecting to get the same quality as actual HD 1080p video? You can't put in information that isn't there. You can't get as good quality when you reencode, let alone better.

You should certainly be able to convert to mp4 that your br player will understand though ... I don't think just any file with a .mp4 extension would work. Xmedia recode may be a good place to start. I don't remember exactly whether it has a BR preset but it has tons of them.

Most likly your blu-ray player will play it if it is an average xvid file with no conversion needed.
    I think,therefore i am a hamster.
