    I've tried alot of software and can't figure out how to take a WMV file that opens with Fritz or Ryba as "CHESS MEDIA FILE" and it shows the move list. When I use programs to just save audio, there is no WMV as audio option. Any audio format I do or try can be played but the move list is not there and it's now a WMV extension. I'm sure you have to save it as Video as WMV but with an option of not having a video present at all that way it may retain its structure and when openened by chessbase it shows the move list and plays them out. I'm new at this and have no clue. I've googled alot but no answers. The purpose of course is to cut down on space for upload.

    For starters: .WMV is just a (misleading) marketing name or label ---- WMV files actually are an ASF container that contains WMV1 or WMV2 or WMV3 (for video) and WMA1 or WMA2 or WMA Pro or WMA Lossless (for audio). Technically, a WMV file "without video" would be the same as a WMA file (technically again, an ASF file containing a WMA stream). This is the very-first time I read about "CHESS MEDIA FILE", Fritz and whatever, and I have no idea of how they use "WMV files" If you give us (many) more details, maybe someone else will be able to help you.

    Only realy I said WMV is because that's the extension of both ones that play videos in deep rybak 3, and ones that do not which are just the sound only. I put gspot on it and your firght
    Stat=File is ASF (.WMA/.WMV)
    stream type and A/V interleave=video/x-ms-asj I don't see any other data of this file
    Like I said it plays in like Deep Rybka 3 or any fritz when you open media and as GM talk of the moves they show up and move on the screen in move list. My goal is to take the video out of it where there is no video but volume and it still retain it's moves. To make this *.wmv file much much smaller in size.

  4. You can try windows media stream editor (comes with wme). Uncheckmark the video stream and remux it. While it works with "normal" WMV, I have no idea if it will work with your chess program

    I uncheck from the input the video, and I clicked start encoding and it doesn't show anything in the path for video but it does show the path to the file for audio & "SCRIPT" but its playing the whole file in real time. I'll check it on desktop in chess program to see if it works.I'm winging it since I don't know how to use this program.

    still not working correctly. It is a script invovled. (video, audio & script starts original) I need it to be resaved as *.wmv but excluding the video comletely with just audio & this script where it is still compatible with chessbase reader or fritz so when I open the media file (*.WMV ONLY) It still shows the chess moves as before but now without video & just audio and a much smaller file due to this.
