I get the error shown every time I try to take a video snapshot.
Tried various file types, all of which used to snapshot OK. Is this a known problem with version 2.0.1?
Happily I was able to capture them by a method that I don't think was possible before. I used Prt Scr and then pasted into IrfanView and cropped. Did that previously create a sort of 'floating' image?

Thanks aedipuss, but with my settings identical to yours I still get the error. (My video mode was set to Blend, but I changed it to the same as yours. No difference, so now changed it back.)
Any other ideas please?
Edit: Meanwhile I've re-installed version 2.0.0 which is fine.
FWIW, I can't understand how I was getting VLC 2.0.1 to run at all, because I found that the XP file type associations for MP4, MPG, MOV, FLV, etc were all set to a non-existent filename, namely
C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe
That folder contains no files. This is the location of version 2.0.1:
C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC 2.0.1\vlc.exe
But even if I change the association to that, I still get the error. Yet with this
C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC 2.0.0\vlc.exe
it works OK.
