  1. I love the software but I have tested it out on M2TS files and VOB files and it did the same thing. I want to choose a segment to extract (audio/video copy) and it gets the start point fine... but the end point it ignores and just goes all the way to the end of the video.

    Example:

Using a video that is one hour long: 01:00:00

I need a segment starting at twenty minutes in: 00:20:00
And ending it at twenty five minutes in: 00:25:00
    basically a 5 minute clip.

Using Video Copy and Audio Copy for my audio & video settings.
After extraction the video is forty minutes long: 00:40:00

It grabs the 00:20:00 start point fine.... but ends up being the rest of the video to the end instead of being a 5 minute video cut part.

Version I am using is: 3.1.1.6

Anyone have any insight into this?

Have you tried latest version? Or maybe an older version.

Or cut m2ts with tsmuxer and vobs with mpg2cut2.

  3. 3.1.1.6 is the latest version. I have used tsMusxeR with some files but you can't precise with cuts. It goes by decimal in regards to time to for cuts. Example: 24 minutes and 30 seconds relates to 24.50 on it. So if you need a cut a precise minute, second, frame.... you can't.

But I am using it right now to take out some unwanted streams for an M2TS file. Just had an error with it trying to downconvert DTS-HD to DTS though.

BTW... all the M2TS files I am wanting to cut up are from Blu Ray content, not recorded from cameras.

Convert the M2TS file into a MKV file and then do the cutting of the MKV with SolveigMM AVI Trimmer + MKV

  5. I am trying to keep everything in it's native format. I don't want to encode the video to other formats, so basic cutting and lossless exporting is more what I want to do. And I tried several of the other applications out there like Smart Cutter, AVIDemux, and others. They all have quirks like crashing or whatever.

There is no re-encoding nor transcoding taking place when going from M2TS to MKV.

So basically you put it in a MKV to use SolveigMM AVI Trimmer + MKV to do the cutting then you can put it back into a M2TS if you like.

I didn't state this to have you dismiss it you know. It works.

  8. Actually one question. What tool do you recommend to convert the M2TS files lossless to MKV?

    Install MKVtoolnix

It comes with a GUI called mkvmergeGUI for creating MKV files.

If you need to convert back to M2TS later then use tsMuxeR
