Right now I am using GE DV1 low light recording sucks. What is the best camcorder under $250 I am looking for something with good video quality image stabilization & decent low light recording something I transfer video to my computer what do you recommend??

	You need aperture control and "image stabilization".

	Good low light performance starts with a large objective lens. And big optics requires a big body. You will never get good low light performance from a compact device like your GE DV1 and its tiny lens.

	Myself, I use a DSLR for video because it can benefit from the lens, not only for low light, but every other aspect like optical zoom, and shallow DOF. Plus, I get high quality stills that no camcorder could come close to. At a $1000 price point all my bases are covered. 
 
 With a budget of $250, you might as well get a $100 Kodak Playsport camcorder, and spend the extra $150 on a tripod and light. At least you'll be moving up to HD, from what you have now.Last edited by budwzr; 29th Dec 2011 at 12:00.

	I am looking at getting the Kodak ZX5 from the videos I have seen on youtube low light is pretty good but the there is a yellowish orange tint.
