    Hi,

    Does changing frame rate from the source file during the conversion matter?

    Suppose if the source file has a frame rate of 29.97 fps and the target file is converted with 30 fps or 25 fps what would be the impact in technical terms? (though goes unnoticed most of the time with naked eye)

    Regards,

  2. To change frame rate you either increase/decrease the frame rate, duplicate/decimate frames or fields, or blend frames or fields. Most are easily visible to the naked eye.

    Thanks indeed;

    So if I translate it into simple English (as I understand). While converting a video file to another format, (a) increasing the frame rate (over the source file) would enhance the quality of output file (b) vice versa, and (c) no change means same quality.

  5. A video is best viewed at its native frame rate.
