Is this A PAL file? It was an MP4 which I converted to BR format. It won't play on my Sony BlueRay players. Is there a way to convert to a U.S format?

  2. Many Blu-ray players won't play videos that aren't 1280x720 or 1920x1080.

Also pal movies won't play on on sony ntsc blu-ray player but found out that at least the ps3 pal plays ntsc movies.

Load the file in tsmuxer and demux with change fps to 24000/1001 checked, then load the audio into eac3to and output as pal slowdown and remux in mkmerge gui.

After that then you have to re-encode to proper blu-ray specs(1280x720)

  4. You can do everything you need in ripbot264.
Btw. Your file has bizarre aspect ratio 2,22:1 !

Needs to be frame rate reduced (slowed down) which is a complicated lossy process unless done right.

Audio may go non-sync and need correction.

  7. As an experiment, open it in YAMB and remux it with the frame rate set to 23.976 fps. See if that plays (the audio will be out of sync). That will tell you if the problem is the frame rate or the frame size.

It's a 2:35 movie and the mp4 file does not have the black bars to bring it to 720.

    That would be 1280x544.

I had ordered an LG BD630 and it arrived today. It plays this 25FPS 1280x576 just fine,no audio synch problem.

to me it sounds like someone had a PAL 1080p, and much like they make "backup" copies of NTSC 1080p movies by converting them to 1280x544 (to maintain a 2.35:1 aspect ratio) these guys wanted to do the same thing with their 1080p PAL source and figured since PAL DVD is 720x576 25fps, then PAL blu-ray at 720p should be 1280x576 25fps.

basically it looks to me like some idiot wanted to make a copy of a blu-ray for file sharing and after smoking some dope used their "superior" intellect to perform some mental gymnastics and arrived at the 1280x576 resolution.

unless the movie was actually shot in 2.22:1 aspect ratio, have you looked it up at the IMDB?

Here. This option also changes audio speed so everything will stay in sync. Obviously this won't work if you use Copy Audio Stream (You must re-encode audio)

Thanks for the clarification. I ran Ripbot with this option checked and it converted the movie to 23.96 with audio in synch on my Sony BR player.
