I just wanted to know how to get a movie to play on VCD without getting the sides cut off. It's not that bad of a problem but I would like to know how.
I am using Virtual Dub and TMPGenc.
I am going from 384 x 288 to VCD standard 352 x 240. I would like any information on how to be able to convert it so that when I watch it on my tv, the subs don't get cut off.
I see that in Virtual dub there is some way to put a black strip on the bottom and top, but don't know how to use it.
Thanks, for any help you might provide!

You can use a filter in Vdub, nul transform > cropping.
In TMPGEnc, Settings > advanced > double click the "clip frame" in the list
If converting an AVI to VCD, then its best to use the second method.
