    can you play VCD on playstation 2. i tried it...but PS2 said put in a playstation or playstation format disk...is there anyway around this...thanks

    I had that exact problem. Iv heard that ps2's just don't play vcds period. But in theory if you had a mod chip it would play because you are using a cdr.

    The PS2 doesnt play vcds. It has nothing to do with a mod chip, the PS2 simply doesnt have the software needed to decode the vcd input. Even if it can read the cdr it doesnt matter because it doesnt know what to do with it.

    however, with the HD and Internet, it may be possible to program a software VCD player for PS2.

    God knows it has the CPU power.


    BTW, my puter is 400hz slower than PS2
