Can't use ISOBuster to recover from coaster

My old Philips DVDR72 had a peculiar issue when the recording onto the disc was allowed to fill up the entire disc to the point of getting a "disc full" message, then those discs couldn't be finalized. The finalize process would finish, but the disc would act like it wasn't finalized. I could recover these discs with ISOBuster on my computer, but if I accidentally attempted to finalize the disc again on my DVDR72, then the disc became unusable, even to ISOBuster. The operating system and isobuster report the disc as empty. I have one such disc that I REALLY want to recover some of the content from. Are there any other programs I could try or any other suggestions?

try to make an image with imgburn and extract from this image
and if windows doesn't see it maybe it's your dvd writer thats getting old

imgburn reports "disc is empty" in read mode, and "disc not empty" in write mode. Here are the details in the right pane:

I seem to be having some success with CD Roller...a DVD Video search finds a VOB starting at sector 16336. I will continue the scan to see if I can find more before I send in my payment for the CD Roller license key...

So I spent countless hours trying to extract the one title from the disc, and I finally got it to my liking...and then I noticed Biography channel is replaying this week the exact title I was trying to recover.

We have all been there trust me. But it wasn't a waste of time because now you have this information in your memory banks - or at least you'll remember you saw it on videohelp somewhere and will know where to dig it up again

Another "Go Figure" moment:

1. This disc was from one of my first batches of discs I bought when I got my first DVD recorder back in 2004 before I knew any better.
2. Brand name of the disc? Verbatim DataLifePlus.
