This is more of a Windows 7 UI problem than anything, but I figure as it's codec related, it's relevant enough to post here. I'm running 64-bit Windows 7 and whenever I'm viewing a folder containing video files, instead of thumbnails from the video files being extracted and displayed in the folder icon, it displays a generic media file icon. It's only until I go inside the actual folder that the thumbnails load. Problem is though, the folder icon gets cached, so when backing out of the folder, it still displays the old generic icons. I notice the problem disappears for whatever file types I set "Microsoft" as the preferred decoder for in Win7DSFilterTweaker. Thing is though, Microsoft decoders don't exist for a lot of formats.

As an example, this is how the majority of my folder icons turn out:

Size: 8.8 KB

Any thoughts? Suggestions?
