anybody had any luck with playing divx softsubs in Wmp 11 ?

I upgraded wmp 10 to wmp 11 in XP, One of the things I noticed, for *.divx files that have
a subtitle track muxed with the video and audio, the subtitles no longer play.

The divx icon appears in the system tray as usual, and subtitles = on is selected.

It works if you open the file in graphstudio, or the old mplayer2 (wmp 6.4).
I'm using the divx 6.85 codec, and the video /audio is divx/xvid, mp3/ac3. For example:

I gave up with this and associated *.divx files to WMP 6.4 (mplayer2.exe). which works fine.
I tried downloading the very latest divx offering, but seems as if this softsub support has been dropped completely,
"Divx subtitle decoder", as seen above, seems to be absent.
