    I am having trouble viewing or converting an .avi file to a viewable format. It says it is a Zmp5 format? Any suggestions?
    I have tried VLC, I have tried ffmpeg, and lots of other conversion programs. The best i can figure out is that it is a Chinese format. Who knows? Any help would be appreciated.

    What says it is zmp5 format ? Mediainfo ? g-spot ?
    Where did you get this from ?

    Chances are that if you downloaded it it is a fake and requires you to download some spyware riddled crap to find this out.

    No it wasn't a downloaded file. It came off an IR camera. I found it was an zmp5 when I tried to convert it with ffmpeg.

    And Mediainfo says the video stream is zmp5. Anyone know anything about it?

    I have the same issue, this format was generated by my dvr surveillance system, i have a pci card with 16 channel coaxial cams and the software make avis of the detection of this cams.

    any solution on for this program?

    It will load with DirectShow filters in Avisynth or VDubMod.
