Hello, saw a thread regarding codecs which gave me the inspiration to sign up here.

I have two questions

1. What codec pack, if any, should I use to play AVI files with? I read that packs are dangerous to a computer.

2. How do I play smooth .vob and MPEG-1 files the way that I used to do before I had to get my comp fixed thanks to a virus?

Any help is appreciated.

1) None. If you need to decode multiple formats, try ffdshow. It's not a codec pack and doesn't have their problems.

2) What are your computer and video card specifications? That makes a big difference on what advice to give.
