    I have this DVD model LG LRA-860 with usb on the front it will not play any AVI in the usb .
    When i look at the menu it only shows usb for photo or music . Although it shows it will play Divx.

    Does anyone know if it is possible or show i move to something else

    If you look up your user manual, on page 29, under Playing a DIVX Movie File it clearly says the following

    Note : This recorder cannot play back the DivX file(s) in the USB Flash Drive.

    If you want to play back Divx/Xvid encoded avi files you will have to burn them to a DVD disc.
