I have a Sony Mavica FD200 that I am using to take 15 sec videos. The subjects are iluminated with a neon light. Viewing them on the view screen they look fine but when I upload them to my computer they are very dark. I used Virtualdub to lighten them but they still don't compare to the files on the camera viewed on the screen.
There doesn't seem to be any functions on the camera to affect this.
Does anyone know if there is some feature I am missing that can be set or any viewer or conversion program that can correct this?
Thanks,
Jim

Download the sample MPG file from here:

Is that file dark on your computer too? Does the picture on the right look more like you would see on the camera?

Keep in mind that computer monitors have different gamma and brightness than televisions. If you brighten up your video like this it may not look right on TV.Last edited by jagabo; 18th Nov 2010 at 09:02.
