In Avidemux's Audio-mp3 lame-configuration, when I change the channel mode to Mono and Video to Copy, the processed file still is in Stereo. I then tried another converter and it worked i.e. changed to Mono.
Is this a bug?

If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?

Thanks AlanHK. But the audio went out of sync with video. Tried with VirtualDub without problems.

So what is the difference between Audio-Filter-Mixer and Audio-mp3 lame-configuration-Channel mode?

Avidemux doesn't do well with processing but does with Copy modes. I tried embedding subtitles following instructions I found online but it didn't work. The software needs a lot more work. So I will just use it for video joining and splitting without reencoding i.e. use Audio Video Copy.
